Charity

How it works?

Raising money for impactful charities is one of the key ways we give a little bit of spare love as a company. 10% of our revenue is donated to charity. We prefer giving a % of our revenue, because this way it's more tangible and transparent for you and easier to calculate for us.

We want you to have a say in who we donate to. The charities we support change every 3 months, at which point we will send out a newsletter to our customers and subscribers and post on our social media accounts detailing how you can vote to donate. You'll be able to choose between four amazing charities that will be tackling a range of different issues. We want anyone that is part of our community to be able to vote, whether you've bought something or not, so if you subscribe to our newsletter or follow us on instagram you'll be able to vote.

The four charities we are supporting at the moment are:

Our first two charities will always be about supporting our planet, with causes ranging from climate change mitigation to environmental or wildlife conservation to animal rights organisations. At the moment we are donating to Marine Conservation Society and ClientEarth.

Our second two charities will always be about supporting people, we’ll choose charities that fight against disease and illness, fight for equality and justice and supporting those with mental health issues among other issues. At the moment we are donating to Barnardos and The END Fund.

Marine Conservation Society

Marine Conservation Society is the UK’s leading marine conservation charity. They fundamentally believe that too much is being taken out and too much is being put into our seas. Groups of scientists, campaigners, advocates, volunteers, researchers and fundraisers work together to create a more sustainable future for our oceans.  The charity drives political, cultural and social changes that will help nurture healthy seas and support marine wildlife. This is a response to the increasing recognition that our seas are under threat from pollution, overfishing, plastic and much more. Read more about MCS here.

ClientEarth

ClientEarth is a charity that uses the power of the law to protect the planet. They are a group of lawyers and environmental experts fighting against climate change, securing environmental rights for all and protecting habitats and wildlife. They work together aiming for a lower carbon future with greater climate justice. They have a number of projects on climate change, wildlife, forests, oceans, health, pollution and more. ClientEarth values include agility, creativity and boldness. Learn more about ClientEarth here.

Barnardos

Barnardos is a UK based children’s charity. They help hundreds of thousands of young people, parents and carers across the country. At a time when more young people need specialist help with a number of complex issues like sexual abuse, mental health problems and serious violence, their work is more vital than ever. Last year they reached over 300,000 children in the UK in children’s centres, school based programmes and other work. They have a focus on providing mental health services, supporting those through child abuse and exploitation services and those who are leaving care. They value the unique and equal worth of every person and encourage people to fulfil their potential. Read more about Barnardos work here.

The END fund

The END fund aims to ensure those at risk of Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) can live healthy and prosperous lives. NTDs are a group of parasitic and bacterial infectious diseases that affect more than 1.5 billion of the world’s most impoverished people, including 868 million children. These diseases include Intestinal Worms, Lymphatic Filariasis, Trachoma and River Blindness. In 2017 they treated 97million people across Africa and Asia.  The END fund is highly recommended by Give Well, an organization that looks into effective altruism and assesses charities using specific criteria. Give Well analyses the number of lives saved, and/or lives improved, based on the amount of money spent. The END fund is rated highly as even a small donation can have a significant impact on multiple lives. Read more about The END Fund here.
