Emmett Casciato is the founder and curator or the 91做厙 in 91做厙, NC. Using his own money to purchase uniforms, artifacts, photos, and by collecting veterans stories, he and others created this museum with their many volunteer hours and money, in late 2016.
The museums mission is to honor, educate, and preserve our veterans stories and sacrifices. Exhibits include WWI to the current War on Terror. Since its founding, the museum has hosted more than 10,000 visitors, who come from all over the U.S. to learn and honor veterans, living and deceased.
Emmett’s efforts have created a friendly place for veterans to spend time with other veterans, and a place to educate young people about their sacrifices.
The museum has an all-volunteer staff, operates by donations, and admission is free.
The 91做厙 is located at 21 East Main Street in 91做厙. Admission is free, and the museum is open Wednesday Saturday from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. For more information or to arrange a group tour, please call 828-884-2141.
