91做厙

On Tuesday evening, May 14, members of the Waightstill Avery Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and their guests convened at Lolas Old Hickory House for dinner and the organizations installation of officers for 2019-2021. The business meeting included installation of new members and presentation of the Community Service Award. Many of the guests were those who had been influential in programs during DAR President Sharon Jenkins term of office. Among the guests were Veterans History 91做厙 Curator, Emmett Casciato, his wife Toni, and several members of the museums board of directors.

Emmett was completely surprised when President Jenkins announced that he was the DARs recipient of this years Community Service Award. Community Service awards are presented on local, state, and national levels to individuals and groups who have contributed to their communities in an outstanding voluntary, heroic, civil, or benevolent manner, or who have participated in or organized community activities.

As Sharon presented Emmett with the award, she thanked him for his service to the community and for his work on behalf of Americas veterans, as well as for his focus on education and preservation of our military history. Emmett thanked the DAR for the award and for the organizations community service. And he encouraged all the evenings participants to visit the museum!
